HURRAY! Its Christmas! Okay, this year really did a number on us and I know that many of us have not gotten the hang of it yet, but firstly I want to say a very big congratulations to us all. YOU MADE IT. Of all the highs and lows, the good and bad, and all sorts of events this rollercoaster of a year filed us in; you’re still standing strong, and for this, you’re more than a conqueror. Now let’s face it, 2021 is on the way, and as much as some of us might have given up on a whole lot of things we had planned for the year 2020, DON’T. This is the perfect time to learn the art of strategizing.

A lot of us had things planned before the Christmas season and as a result of all that transpired in the year, none of those plans came to pass. Although, I want to assure you that being alive is more than a treasure especially in this season, we make so many plans that we don’t even bother to think if we’re still going to be here to achieve them, but look at you, still here, still planning…  that is something to be grateful for. We may not have the resources to go out with our family members this season, or travel outside the country as a result of the newly imposed lockdown being put in place by a lot of countries, but there are a list of indoor activities we can always engage in, to spice up the moment.

Some of these activities include; cooking together, playing board games, watching movies, non-stop Christmas songs to liven the air, decorating together, taking pictures together, walking our pets, and a list of other fun activities we can do while being indoors and practicing social distancing.  All these activities help in bonding and appreciating the time spent with our family and loved ones. Some of us are workaholics whose jobs take up a lot of family time and maybe, this is a time of reflection for those of us in that category. Take a moment to think about how important this season is for that child you barely see except on weekends, for your partner who only sees a glimpse of you at occasional periods. Do this for them, and in a short while you would realize how beautiful it is to spend time with people you love.

Merry Christmas everyone, I wish you the best holiday ever. May the remaining days of the year be merry and bright to you. Cheers!

When it comes to styling your kids, there are a thousand and one options you can pick from. Although, we’ve selected a few of these methods in order to make them even more beautiful and satisfied with their hair. Many of us parents may have noticed how difficult it is trying to get your child to cooperate with the hairstylist, and in as much as we try, sometimes it gets too difficult and we give up. ‘’just do anything simple for her’’, you say to the hairstylist, irrespective of what you had planned. I once took my sister to the salon to make her hair and I spent a lot trying to placate her, in the end, we got home and few hours later, she had loosened all the strands of hair picked. Annoying, right?

Anyway, here’s a list of things to do in order to avoid all that drama.

MAKE SURE THEIR HAIR IS IN GOOD CONDITION

Most times we underestimate the importance of keeping our children’s hair in good shape. A meagre amount of hair cream here and there and we think it’s all good? No. we need to consistently condition their hair, wash when necessary, and apply a wide range of products to ensure it is healthy enough to be plaited, else it might be difficult to manage and could lead to hair breakage.

FORGO UNREASONABLY TIGHT BRAIDS

Contrary to the opinion that says ‘’beauty is pain’’, our children do not have to go through all that struggle just to look beautiful. When styling their hair, make sure you’re not putting them through more than they can handle, as this can make them uncomfortable.  If necessary, ask the hairstylist to go easy on the scalp and this could in turn prevent redness or blisters resulting from overly tight braids.

DO AWAY WITH EXTENSIONS

Adding hair extensions can be a major cause of pain while styling, and this can also have other adverse effects such as weakening the hair, which could ruin it in the long run. Let their hair breathe, there are many fashionable items these days that can be added to the hair such as beads, rubbers, etc. Do this instead and watch how helpful it becomes afterwards.

UNDERSTAND THE TEXTURE OF THEIR HAIR

There are a lot of beautiful styles we see on the internet, magazines and so on, and sometimes we get carried away and impose that on our children, without even knowing if the texture of their hair is suitable for it. So next time you think of doing that style you saw in a magazine for your child, make sure her hair is suitable enough for it, in order to avoid any sort of damage.

So, these are a list of options to pick from in order to achieve a flawless look for your child. Remember, practice makes perfection.
