In our last publication, we gave you tips on how to set up a basic skincare routine. For many people, following the simple tips to creating a good skincare routine and having an awesome skin is not the problem. The problem is that their skin is not like others’ so the therapy doesn’t work the same way on them because they either have oily skins or dry skins. Not to worry, in today’s publication, we will be giving you tips on how to handle and control oily skin to give you a perfect skin.
In order to control oily skins, you’d find the following tips very useful;

1. Get a foaming cleanser
This is the best choice for oily skins as foamy cleansers remove oil gently from the skin. You do not need to apply much to your face, just a little is enough. They come in gel, pump and cream forms, so whichever one you prefer to make use of.
Be careful to wash your face only twice a day as washing it too often can actually cause the skin to produce more oil and pimples.

2. Go for ingredients that battle acne
If your skin is acne-prone, then it is best you use tougher ingredients that will reduce oil and pimples on your skin. Such common and effective products include; Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur, retinoid, etc.

3. Use a water-based moisturizer
Using heavy moisturizers will do more harm than good to your skin as it only tends to make it oilier. To avoid this, make use of water or gel-based moisturizers instead. To easily recognize these moisturizers, they are the ones that usually have water listed as the first or second ingredient.

4. Do not ignore clay masks
Clay masks are awesome friends for people with oily skins. Always smear them on your face after cleansing, then leave them on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off. Apply moisturizers afterwards.

5. Keep your hands away from your face
There is no easier way to transfer bacteria to your face than touching your face with your hands. If you must touch your face, then make sure you wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water first to avoid causing pimples on the face.
Never pick, squeeze or pop your pimples. It would only make it hurt more and look worse and may eventually leave an ugly scar there.

In our next publication, we will give you tips on how to control dry skin.
We do hope these tips work for you, and we anticipation your positive reviews and testimonies. If you have any suggestion on any other ways people with oily skins can control it, please do well to drop in the comment section, so other readers can read and learn as well.

During holidays and their free time, some parents usually find it difficult to come up with tasks, games and activities to engage in with the children. Spending time and carrying out activities with your children have a lot of positive effects on the children. Apart from keeping them out of trouble and keeping them safe, such activities with your children usually help them learn more, improves their cognitive processes and boosts their confidence in solving real-life issues. The bond and trust it establishes between parents and their children can also not be overlooked. Seeing how important these activities are in fostering good relationships between parents and children, we have decided to enlighten you on activities and tasks that you could embark on with your children in your free time or during the holidays.

1. Hide And Seek
This game is dependent on the size of your backyard and can be more challenging and fun if you include the indoors of your house. Be sure to set ground rules and guidelines to guide the children during the course of the game, so that no one gets lost or hurt. This game can come in handy in cases of emergencies when the child’s life may be threatened and requires him or her to hide in safety.

2. Bike Riding
Can you think of something more bonding than biking with your family? We bet you can’t. It is always safe to start in restricted areas first where the safety of the kids can be guaranteed before moving out to larger areas to cover. One parent at the front, the kids in the middle and the other parent at the back is probably the safest and best way to go biking. In case you’re thinking of how to make the biking more fun, you can invite another family to join yours.

3. Gardening
Imagine the joy of teaching your children how to recreate life by planting. It’s on a whole new level. You can start by allowing them to pick the seeds or ready-made plants at the markets. Then the backyard of the house can come in handy for the planting. In a situation where you do not really have a backyard, you could do indoor planting with vases and nurseries. Fun games like plant racing, a competition in which the children compete with each other which of their plants will grow the fastest, can even be added to the gardening to make it more fun and challenging.

4. Monopoly
This is an indoor board game that basically teaches the kids a lot about spending in real life. It is just as time-consuming as it is fun and educating and would be an awesome way for parents to bond with their kids. The more competitive your family is, the more challenging the game will be and the more fun you’ll get from it.

5. Tug of War
This one game, as fun as it still requires a decent level of energy and physical strength. Families with a considerable of children can decide to play this game with both parents acting as the captains of both teams. It is advised that utmost care is taken while playing this game with your family as there is a slim chance of getting physically injured as a result of the tugging of the rope during the course of the game.

While nobody is an expert with children, many people have other ways to keep their children company and strengthen the bond between themselves and their children. In case you have any idea or suggestion that will come in handy in hanging out with kids, feel free to share them in the comment section for other readers to see and take note.

We always get questions every time we write about Natural Hair. We have received several private messages from those who are thinking about going natural or who want to do the big chop (cutting off all of their chemically straightened hair). We say, go for it! It’s a great way to familiarize yourself with your roots…literally, the roots of your hair and the amazing texture that it sprouts. But it’s easy to get discouraged from taking that leap when the natural hair community has such a strong fixation with long natural hair.
We have highlighted some styles you can rock depending on how low your hair is.

Just get a low cut and wear your hair ultra-short. This is a brave move but it can look absolutely stunning! You can even give it an attitude with a side part.

Accessorize with metal headbands and chains or just rubber Alice band for that calculated look.

Use a head wrap to add a lil somethin’ to your little curls. Sometimes, less is more

Go Bantu!!! Consider going to a professional stylist to get it done if you want to make sure that each knot is even. As you can see, this isn’t just a way to get a great twist out overnight; it’s a fun, edgy look that looks great when you wear it out, too!

Rock some flat twists on one side or both sides of your head and leave the rest of your hair loose or coiled.

Do you have very short natural hair? How do you like to style you hair? Are you thinking about going natural or getting the big chop? Tell us in the comments!

We cant wait to hear from you.

The number one leading brand in Natural Hair Care, Natures Gentle Touch has vowed to continuously promote proper natural hair care by sharing knowledge during its Natural Hair Workshop.  It was an exciting time for the participants at the last edition of the Natures Gentle Touch Natural Hair Workshop.

The session which had in attendance ladies wearing their natural hair; those transitioning into natural hair; as well as those who are desirous of growing their natural hair, focused on getting the participants to share their hair challenges and providing adequate information on how to handle these challenges.

Concerns discussed during the session ranged from how to address hair breakage, detangling, shedding and knotted ends, and many more issues aimed at empowering participants with knowledge on how to take care of their natural hair.

There were Trichologists on ground, patiently listening to and responding to all hair and scalp related questions of each participant, Natures Gentle Touch Natural Hair workshop is definitely the best place for all natural hair lovers.
